Grades and Reports

At the end of your course, you will be given a detailed report showing your grade, participation and attendance. This data is recorded  every two weeks.

Grades

Your marks are listed in a GPA (Grade Point Average) format. Each GPA corresponds to a letter grade and breaks down in the following manner:

                   A+  = 4.3                      C = 2

                   A    = 4                         D = 1

                   B    = 3                         F = 0

Each student will receive a course report at the end of his or her course at EF. This will indicate the letter grade given for each class and the corresponding GPA and overall attendance percentage..

Participation

Teachers will also indicate how well students participate in class and what effort students have made to gain their GPA score.  This will be one of the following: poor, average, good, very good, or excellent.

Attendance

Attendance is shown as a percentage i.e. – 100%, 95%. Students must have maintained an 80% attendance record to receive their course certificate.

Certificates

Certificates are handed out in class on the final day of classes.  At the completion of the course, students will be asked to fill out an online questionnaire evaluating various aspects of the school. These forms are very important to us as student input provides us with valuable information on how the school is running.

Promotion

If a student wishes to change level before the end of their course, they must get approval from their General English teacher.

Class Changes

Every two weeks, we have "Class Change Monday". On this day, your General English teacher will have an opportunity to request promotions on your behalf. You may also request changes to your schedule at this time. For instance, if you are in a morning class, you can request an afternoon class from your teacher. You may also request different SPINs or Online SPINs.
