EF started in Lund, Sweden, in 1965, with the mission of breaking down barriers of language, culture and geography. Over the past 40 years, EF has expanded its programs to include language and business education, cultural exchange and educational travel. Today, EF has offices in 51 countries. On a yearly basis, approximately two million students participate in EF programs.
